As we enter November and with Thanksgiving less than four weeks away, we thought we would take some time to mention the people and things in our lives we are thankful for. Too many times in our busy days we focus on the emergency de jour and we forget we have a lot to be grateful for.

We are thankful we live in the United States of America. We have the freedom to believe in whatever religion, political philosophy or lifestyle we choose. While there may still be some work to do, our world is much different than it was fifty or even twenty years ago. While the political rhetoric can be tiring at times, it also provides a bit of entertainment. If you’re ever bored one evening, switch on CNN, Fox News or MSNBC; it can be funnier than any comedy on television.

We are thankful for our thriving business. We have poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into Leading Edge Wealth Advisors (and its predecessor entities) over the past fifteen to twenty years and it’s satisfying to see those efforts pay off.

We are thankful for the companies we have partnered with. Our broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor, Cambridge Investment Research has been an award-winning entity the past eleven years. They provide us excellent back office capabilities and services. Our main custodians, Charles Schwab and Pershing LLC have state-of-the-art investment trading systems, which provide the backbone of our investing operations. Our main insurance broker, Ash Brokerage, provide us many options to serve our clients’ life, disability and long-term care insurance needs.

We are thankful for our professional network. We have partnered with some excellent attorneys, accountants and other professionals, both locally and throughout the country. These professionals have assisted us both directly and indirectly in serving our clients’ many needs.

We are thankful for you, our clients. Obviously, without you, we wouldn’t have a business. While it is fulfilling to serve your financial needs, it is equally rewarding to watch you and your families grow. We’ve been there through the trials and tribulations of life and we wish you all continued success.

Last, but not least, we are thankful for our families. Our wives Sherri, Rachel and Donna have supported us in many ways as we have built this business and we wouldn’t be here without them. Our children range in age from 25 to five and we are proud of all they have accomplished. Abby is living and working in New York City. Jackson is a senior at McDaniel College. Joe and Lauren are seniors at St. Mary’s and Severna Park high schools, respectively. Cameron is a freshman at Severna Park High School. Eilah and Donnie now both attend Rolling Knolls Elementary School. Our families continue to inspire us to do greater things.

To all our clients and friends, we wish you a very healthy, safe and happy Thanksgiving.
